Former FM Sahibzada Yaqub Ali Khan passes away
President and Prime Minister have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Sahabzada Yaqoub.
Former Foreign Minister Sahibzada Yaqoub Khan passed away in Islamabad last night. He was 95.
After retiring from the Army as lieutenant general, Sahibzada Yaqoub Khan embarked on a career as a diplomat.
He remained Pakistan’s ambassador to France, the United States and the Soviet Union from 1972 to 1982.
He served as foreign minister from 1982 to 1991. He also served as caretaker foreign minister from 1996 to 1997.
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Sahabzada Yaqoub Khan.
In their condolence messages, they prayed for the departed soul and commiserated with the bereaved family.
They appreciated the services of Sahabzada Yaqoub for the country saying he was a seasoned diplomat.
